It's Murphy's Law -- one week after getting seeds in the ground we have a cold snap and this afternoon it started snowing. I put garden blankets over as much of the planted area as possible and it's still warm enough that the snow is melting as soon as it hits the ground. Still, the temperature is dropping and if this keeps up, we may have some accumulation overnight.
The carrots we planted too late last fall survived the winter and are coming up now (see the light green in the middle of the garden bed in back in the Garden 2.0 picture?). Hopefully the new seeds will be as hardy.
